What?
Minimalism is a counter-cultural movement that allows for us to be free from the bonds of consumerism and most importantly, help us find freedom. It encourages us to get rid of our excess items and to find happiness beyond materialism.
|
Why?
Minimalism can help us find lasting happiness. With minimalism, we spend less time working for things that we do not need. We spen this time instead with our families, or pursuing our interests and hobbies.
|
How?
Becoming minimalist is simple. It's personal, it's unique, and it's different for everyone. Get rid of excess items and limit your consumerism. Take a step in minimalism whenever you want!
|
It's not just about material possesions.
Material goods themselves are not harmful or bad in any way, but the consumer mindset is. The consumer mindset has consumed us. We attach meaning into our objects, and we care too much about the acquisition of material goods. We would rather risk personal safety, give up family time, and stop at nothing to achieve “success,” which we often associate with an abundance of consumer goods. While these goods can help us achieve happiness, minimalism allows us to achieve happiness and freedom in a much more deliberate way.
